NVQ Assessment Provider
Churchill Specialist Contracting Ltd are the sectors only independent training provider accredited to the National Specialist Assessment Centre providing National Vocational Qualification Level 2 & 3 qualifications for both Steeplejacks & Lightning Protection Engineers via the OSAT (On Site Assessment Training) route.
OSAT helps experienced workers obtain the qualifications to confirm and display their competency to undertake and safely complete a specific task, upon achievement it culminates in an individual's skills and experience being combined into a nationally recognised NVQ qualification. In addition upon achievement of an NVQ qualification it will assist an individual to qualify for a Construction Skills Certification Scheme (CSCS) industry specific card to promote and demonstrate the individuals level of competence has been achieved via the NVQ route.
One of the main benefits of obtaining an NVQ via the OSAT route is that the entire process is carried out whilst the candidate is on site so they don't have to take time off to go to college. Achievement for both NVQ level 2 & 3 is targeted for completion within a 36 week period based on three visits at 8-12 week intervals.
To enrol as an NVQ Lightning Conductor candidates will require a minimum of 2 years + experience for NVQ level 2 and 5 years + for NVQ level 3, Steeplejack candidates will require a minimum of 3 years + experience for NVQ level 2 and 6 years + for NVQ level 3.
APL (approved prior learning) including a CV detailing work history will be required prior to the first assessment to furthermore confirm the suitability and competence of a proposed candidate.
